Explore your opportunity

SELLER CONTROL

Explore the opportunity. Keep authority over the decision.

Your inquiry is a starting point. It does not authorize buyer outreach, disclosure of your identity or access to your records.

Information is shared in stages.

Start with a description

Tell us about your systems, retained history and workflows. Do not send raw records, credentials, confidential contracts or personal customer information through the website.

Approve buyer outreach

You approve the parties and the description. Where a buyer’s process allows, initial interest can be tested without naming your company. A description must also avoid details that reveal its identity indirectly.

Approve detailed diligence

Identity, samples and detailed records require separate approval and appropriate safeguards. Confirm the recipient, purpose, information requested and relevant confidentiality terms first.

Authorize a defined transfer

Delivery follows the agreed scope and contract. Records outside that scope are not authorized for sharing.

Set the boundaries in writing.

Records and fields

Which systems, time periods and record types are included? What must be excluded?

Recipients and uses

Who can receive the records? What may they do with them, and for how long?

Privacy and rights

Who reviews personal information, customer restrictions, employee information and software terms?

Preparation and approval

Who extracts and de-identifies records? What will the seller review before delivery?

Security and retention

How are access, storage, further sharing, retention and deletion addressed?

Final decision

The seller approves the agreement and can decline an opportunity. Existing contractual obligations still apply.

Clear responsibilities.

Copper Key provides commercial representation and coordinates requests. It does not act as a data custodian or provide record-preparation services.

Where available, the buyer handles extraction and preparation. Independent technical specialists assess feasibility or security when needed. Your attorney reviews legal rights and obligations.

Removing names alone does not establish anonymity or permission to license. Those questions need review before sharing.
